Story Title:
Jury gets glimpse into aftermath of hit-and-run wreck

Story Summary:
During day one of Gabrielle Nestande's hit-and-run trial, details emerged about the hours before the fatal collision that killed Courtney Griffin on May 27, 2011. Nestande faces manslaughter and intoxicated manslaughter charges for striking Griffin with her vehicle and fleeing to a friend's house nearby. As the state and the defense laid out their stories about the night's events, tears fell from the eyes of Griffin's family, audience members of the court and Nestande herself. The Orange County native will take the stand later in trial, which is expected to last two weeks.
