Story Title:
State rests; Nestande may take stand in final day of testimony

Story Summary:
The state rested its case Monday in the hit-and-run trial of Gabrielle Nestande. During the fifth day of testimony the lead investigator said he believed the former legislative aide was “impaired” when she got behind the wheel in the early morning hours of May 27, 2011. The jury also heard from accident reconstruction experts for the state and the defense who each gave different accounts of what may have led to the death of 30-year-old Courtney Griffin. The defense is supposed to conclude testimony Tuesday, and Nestande could be one of the final witnesses.
