Gabrielle Nestande took the stand Tuesday during the sixth day of testimony in her hit-and-run trial, admitting she had four to five drinks at a Rainey Street bar and felt the effects of alcohol before getting behind the wheel in the early morning hours of May 27, 2011 . She maintained she was not intoxicated when she struck and killed 30-year-old Courtney Griffin with her her black BMW, and did not realize she hit a human being until APD Vehicular Homicide officers arrived at the State Capitol, where she worked as a legislative aide, to question her. The defense rested shortly after Nestande's testimony. Each side has been given one hour for closing arguments.
