If Austin isn’t there yet, it’s on the verge of a construction boom.

Many of the development projects which were mothballed during the recession are now a go. As it stands, companies have three years from their green light to start “turning dirt.”

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott recently ruled that companies have five years to begin their approved projects.

Colin Pope, editor of Austin Business Journal, says there are about 40 or so projects which are on the verge of expiring, but now could get their projects done based on the permitting that they currently have.
