If you like music and need flexibility, it can be done in a fitness class called Bar Fitness in which no shoes or dancing is required.

Participant Mary Valente does not desire to be a ballerina, but she does desire a better body.

"For someone my age, it is tough, the balance. I happen to have rheumatoid arthritis, so I have an extra battle there going on," she said.

In the Bar Fitness class, getting into shape is not an option. The ballet bar is used for tightening and toning.

"I think what most women want is the long lean body, and that is what you can really accomplish here," class participant. Jennifer Oberting said.

The intensity burns the fat, and a combination of exercises works the entire body. In addition to yoga moves and Pilates, they use free weights and bands.
