When you are a parent with young kids, finding free time is hardly possible. However, if you were to work at DeCrescente Distributing Company, things are different.
"I have two young kids at home, it's nice to come after work or during lunch," DeCrescente Distributing Co. employee Aileen Flach said.
Flach’s boss, CJ DeCrescente, gives the employees more benefits than just health insurance.
Got a headache? Go see the physician’s assistant down the hall. Got a back ache? How about a little physical therapy during lunch? That's what Anthony Green is doing since he hurt his back on the job. "It makes it a lot easier. Instead of having to drive to Albany to see a physical therapist, have to pay 40 bucks or whatever, gas and not paying co-pay, is great," Green said.
Since the gym and wellness center have been open, which are also free for family members, the use has more than doubled and that means more people are healthy.
"If you look at employees that don't have to take off a half day off to get to appointment, having the convenience or go call that day or stop in, you can see someone that day and on your way to feeling better," CJ DeCrescente said.
