Representing the Americana crowd at the Austin City Limits Festival this weekend is the Austin-based band Sons of Fathers.
"Sons of Fathers breaks the rules," singer and guitarist Paul Cauthen said. "It's not the same as any country band or any rock band. We have morphed into this sound that is a sound of our own."
Both Cauthen and David Beck, the band's singer and bassist, were influenced by the elder men in their families – Cauthen's grandfather taught him how to sing at a very young age, and Beck's father was a touring musician for Robert Earl Keen – which is what inspired the band's name.
Sons of Fathers will be playing on the Austin Ventures Stage this Friday at ACL. Watch the video above to find out more.
