If you want to have a successful butterfly garden as part of your gardening portfolio, you’ll need to learn about two different types of plants: host and nectar plants.

Passion vine is a great host plant to grow at home, according to Liz McVeety with the Zilker Botanical Garden. Caterpillars really take to it and it does a great job at helping the caterpillars grow into butterflies.
