In the wide expanse of West Texas sits
Marfa, a small rural community with an international art scene.
One hotel is adding to the art scene and making your experience truly unique.
El Cosmico is a hotel made up of Yurts, a teepee and restored vintage trailers. Owners describe it as, “campground-hotel for the intrepid traveler.”
“You can have anything from a very nicely appointed, very simple but beautiful, trailer that kind of looks like a ship floating out on sort of this vast ocean landscape to pulling up a piece of dirt and throwing a tent down," El Cosmico spokesperson Isadora McKeon said.
She said the hotel is just a continuation of the road trip.
"You're still almost in this vehicle in the middle of this beautiful place and you get to be on the land and really feel like you're in Marfa experiencing this kind of rural space," McKeon said. "The huge canopy of stars at night [offers] just this sense of uninhibited freedom."
Visitors are actually able to get away and unplug.
"I think trailers represent this nomadic culture, and I think there's something about Marfa that speaks to the nomad. It's definitely a trek. It's in the middle of nowhere. You definitely feel a sense of freedom and escape. I think these trailers represent that same ideology," McKeon said.
El Cosmico also host concerts, art workshops and culinary classes. You can find a complete list of events by clicking here
