A summer's worth of work is coming to fruition for hundreds of students.
After a summer filled with practice, the students of the Westwood Warrior Marching Band are preparing for the first game of the season.
"We were rehearsing about anywhere between four to six hours a day, and if you add that up over the month, I can't do the math right now," Westwood High School Marching Band member Jonathan Stegall
Marching band member Shub Chandrasekaran said performing at football games is how the band also prepares to compete.
"Games are basically like our rehearsal for the competitions. We play our competition show during half time," he said.
It’s also a time to make friends, prepare to perform and learn some valuable life lessons.
"You make so many friends in band. It's like a family where it's just all your best friends. It's awesome," marching band member Iliana Romero said.
You can see the Westwood High School Marching Band perform this Friday when Westwood takes on Cedar Park.
