Just two games separate the Wimberley Texans from a state championship.
This week, they take on the Coldspring-Oakhurst Trojans, the same team which knocked them out of the playoffs last year. The game has the town buzzing with energy.
"Teachers are already kind of scheduling around the state game,” Texans quarterback Brady Lambert said. “It's really exciting to go into the community. You go out to eat at a restaurant locally and people come up to you congratulating you for last week.”
Community aside, the Texans have just one thing on their minds.
"We're just looking at that main goal of state championship," Texans left tackle Bradley Rodriguez said. "Come out, be loud and just be enthusiastic."
And if things go well for the team, they hope the crowd can do it again the following Sunday as they play for the state championship.
