That taste of state gave the Eagles a fresh wave of confidence, but they have to replace more than 50 seniors, including quarterback Jake Hubanek.
Coach Jason Dean says last season gave Georgetown the confidence they could make it as far as the championship, even if they didn't win, and from now on, they plan to be a playoff football team.
"Before, our program was not ready to talk about State Championships, last year is the first year that we really started talking about that, and so this program feels like, our kids feel like that we know what it's like to do that, we know what it's like to get there," Coach Dean said.
The Eagles are district, 17-4A. They were 15-1 last season, their only loss coming in the State Championship. The Eagles open up this season on August 30th versus Killeen Ellison.
