Austin firefighters battled a house fire Monday which spread to a second home in northwest Austin.
The blaze broke out around 11 a.m. Monday on 2608 Dove Valley trail near Highway 183 and Pond Springs Road. When crews arrived on scene, the house where the fire originated was completely engulfed in flames, which were reportedly 25 to 30 feet high. That house is destroyed, but the neighboring home where the fire spread appears to have minor damage.
There were several off-duty firefighters in the area when the fire broke out who made sure nobody was inside the home. No injuries have been reported.
It took responders about 45 minutes to get the fire under control.
The cause of the fire is not yet determined.
