Austin's robust economy is once again the strongest in the country.
The Business Journals' ‘On Numbers’ report uses 18 factors in its ranking, including unemployment and job growth.
According to the report, Austin's unemployment is at 5.2 percent. Nationally, the rate is 7.2 percent.
Job growth is the main reason for the high ranking. The report found Austin to be the only US city with double digit percentage job growth.
Over the past five years, Austin's job growth has been at just under 11 percent. During the same time, no other US city has seen more than 8 percent.
Three Texas cities made it into the top five--the Dallas-Fort Worth area is number two and Houston is fourth.
