Reports from the 2013 Tony Awards and the 2013 National High School Musical Theatre Awards highlight the July episode of "On Stage Across America," a new theater show from Time Warner Cable and Playbill Magazine.
The monthly TV show, co-hosted by NY1 News theater reporter Frank DiLella and Playbill Magazine editor Blake Ross, is dedicated to the vast array of American theater including Broadway, Touring Broadway, Regional Theater, and local High School productions from across the country.
The half-hour program premieres a new episode the first week of each month on TWC Video On Demand, select TWC local channels, and online.
May's premiere episode featured Tom Hanks, Cyndi Lauper, Harvey Fierstein and Audra McDonald, plus a look at the Broadway national tours of "Sister Act," "Les Miserables," and "Anything Goes," as well as The American Repertory Theater (ART) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and The School of the Arts in Rochester.
Stage and screen actor Aaron Tveit and a slate of Tony nominees are among the stars appearing in June's second episode.
