University of Texas football players Jordan Hicks and Case McCoy will not face charges in an alleged sexual assault last month.

However, a representative with the San Antonio Police Department says the case is still under review.

When the football team was in San Antonio for the Alamo Bowl in December, Head Coach Mack Brown told the media two football players had broken team rules and were suspended from the bowl game and sent home. Reports out of San Antonio said a 21-year-old woman filed a police report that she had been sexually assaulted by one of the players after drinking in a nightclub.

Now, Jordan Hick’s attorney Perry Minton says he received a call from San Antonio Police saying that no charges will be filed.

He released the following statement:

“I just got off the phone with the San Antonio Police Department detective in charge of the investigation and my client and he informed me that no charges will be brought against Jordan Hicks or anyone else in this matter. The investigation is closed.

Additionally, I have spoken to Mr. Hicks and his family and they are understandably relieved. Mr. Hicks will be returning to the University of Texas once school resumes from holiday break.”
