We continue our high school football tour around Central Texas with the Vandegrift Vipers. They finished in a three-way tie for third in district 25-4A last season and were the unlucky team forced to watch the playoffs from home.
This year, Vandegrift plans on returning to the post-season for the second time in their short football history. The Vipers are led by defensive minded coach Drew Sanders, but this season, they'll mix it up on O. This year, they're going to the read-option to use quarterback Jamie Hudson's speed.
25-4A one of the hardest district in the state. Cedar Park won state, Rouse got to the semifinals and don't sleep on Leander. Last season Vandegrift went 5-5. They open 2013 against McNeil.
