The request for a court of inquiry was presented to Chief Justice Jefferson by Bexar County State District Judge Sid Harle earlier this month.
Harle found there was enough evidence to request a formal prosecutorial misconduct investigation into the 1987 murder trial of Christine Morton.
Christine's husband, Michael Morton, spent 24 years behind bars for her murder. Newly-tested DNA evidence recently exonerated him in the case.
Anderson, now a sitting district judge in Williamson County, has said the justice system failed Morton and has denied any wrongdoing in the case.
