Spicewood Beach water customers are blaming the Lower Colorado River Authority for their water troubles.

Residents aired their frustrations Tuesday night night during an LCRA open house.

Spicewood Beach customers have been under severe water restrictions since January, when LCRA announced the area's wells were almost out of water.

LCRA blamed the drought, but customers say LCRA mismanaged their water.

"Grant you, we have been hit by the worst drought we've ever seen in our lives, that our parents have ever seen in their lives, and that's understandable,” Spicewood Beach Resident Gregg Sanders said. “All the more reason why you need to make some responsible decisions about the management of what water we do have. And just selling it to the person that has the fistful of money doesn't make any sense to me."

Under Stage 4 water restrictions, people in Spicewood Beach cannot use water outside.

They're also encouraged to only use water indoors when it's absolutely necessary.
