It's the Democrats’ turn to make their pitch to the American people and stake their claim for why President Obama deserves another term in the White House.
Our Capital Tonight Crew has moved from Tampa to Charlotte to cover the Democratic National Convention. YNN’s Political Anchor Paul Brown shares more from the Time Warner Cable Arena in the video above.
Texas Delegates want to change the perception of Texans not being as involved with the DNC. San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro is expected to deliver the keynote address Tuesday. State representative and twin brother Joaquin Castro will be introducing him.
DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz chimed in on the importance of Julian Castro’s speech for Texas politics.
“We see so many opportunities to win some new congressional seats, and I’m looking forward to serving with Julian’s brother, Joaquin, in the next Congress, and President Obama chose an incredible keynote speaker. I’m really looking forward to Mayor Castro’s address,” she said.
We’ll have a lot more from the Democrats as the DNC Convention gets underway Tuesday. Be sure to watch our special edition of Capital Tonight at 7 p.m. Monday.
