Weather experts have predicted a wetter October than typical, so now is a great time to get started on a rainwater harvesting project if that is something which has been on your mind.
Jason Ballard, vice president of sustainability for TreeHouse, says that while we may not get a whole lot of rain in Central Texas, rainwater harvesting can still be worth it.
“With one inch of rain, the average home is going to catch about 600 gallons of water if you’re draining that whole roof into a water catchment system,” Ballard said. “Even with a little bit of rain, you can catch a tremendous amount of water.”
