Waco police have arrested a man for a drive-by shooting
that critically injured an infant child and wounded an adult male on Oct. 10.
Samuel Henry Jr., 24, was arrested Thursday for driving while license invalid and possession of a controlled substance during a traffic stop in the 21000 block of Maple Avenue, according to officers.
Detectives were able to arrest Henry after witnesses identified him as the shooter. He was served warrants while incarcerated in McClennan County Jail.
Seven-month-old Dmar Caufield was shot in the head on the night when a house in the 1600 block of North 18th Street was shot at multiple times in the early morning hours. The infant’s father, Craig Mays, was also wounded by gunfire but later released from treatment.
