APD sergeant faces 60-day suspension
An Austin police sergeant has been suspended for 60 days, and demoted, after an incident at a shopping center in August.
According to a memo from APD Chief Art Acevedo, Sgt. William Lefebvre used the bottom of his foot to move a suspect farther into a patrol car, and struck the suspect in the chest.
Acevedo added Lefebvre didn't report the incident the same day, and his report should've been more accurate and timely.
Lefebvre has agreed to a voluntary demotion from sergeant to corporal detective. When he returns to the force, Lefebvre also faces a one-year probationary period.
