The City of Austin will select three residents to be the city’s first 10-1 Applicant Review Panel at its Monday meeting.
The drawing was postponed from Wednesday, when the date was pushed back to ensure mailed applications were included in the process.
The Applicant Review Panel will be tasked with choosing the 60 most qualified applicants for the Citizens Redistricting Commission, which will draw the 10 new city council districts.
The effort comes after residents raised concerns about representation of their neighborhoods on city council. Each of 10 new districts will have one representative on city council.
