Austin police investigate fatal crash on Parmer Lane
The driver of a GMC Yukon died Monday in the 8600 block of East Parmer Lane after he wrecked while attempting to drive around slower traffic, according to Austin police.
The 22-year-old man, who police did not name, was traveling east on East Parmer Lane just before 7:30 a.m. Monday when he pulled into a gravel and grass median to go around several slower moving vehicles, police said.
The Yukon hit a curb and rolled over onto the shoulder of the road. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

This is Austin’s 16th fatal traffic crash and the 17th traffic fatality of the year.
