According to Colin Pope, editor of the Austin Business Journal, documents at the Williamson County Courthouse indicate that LegalZoom, an online legal service company, recently purchased more than 200,000 square-feet of office space near Lakeline Mall for $21 million.

Pope said the purchase could be part of a 2010 incentives deal between Austin and LegalZoom in which city leaders promised $20,000 each year to the company—not a lot of money to the California company, but they may still want to hold up their end of the bargain.

Expect to see new “help wanted” ads for LegalZoom in the near future, according to Pope.
