State Rep. Naomi Gonzalez arrested for driving while intoxicated

Democratic State Rep. Naomi Gonzalez was arrested early Thursday morning and charged with driving while intoxicated.
According to police, the 34-year-old lawmaker out of El Paso was involved in a car wreck around 2 a.m. at Congress Avenue and Barton Springs Road with at least one other car and a bicyclist. Police say she rear-ended a car which then struck a bicyclist.
Rep. Gonzalez and the bicyclist were taken to a nearby hospital with injuries not expected to be life threatening.
Rep. Gonzalez was booked into Travis County Jail just before 6 a.m. according to jail records. She has since been released.
