Mornings during South by Southwest are full of live music, and the trend continued Friday with plenty of folk fun.
Day three of KGSR’s live music showcase inside downtown’s W hotel included Kodaline, The Lone Bellow and Third Eye Blind.
About 500 people jammed out to the day's mellow tunes. Despite the early start time, the bands were ready to play.
"We're pretty tired but we're just so happy to be at South by, it's great, it’s crazy, its cool and the vibe is amazing. We'll just have some coffee, a few coffees and we'll be good,” band member Steve Garrigan said. "I don't even drink coffee, but I'm going to start now."
One of the band’s on Monday’s lineup was Spirit Family Reunion, who has gone from performing in New York subway stations to jamming alongside Alabama Shakes. YNN’s Jess Mitchell talks to band members about their Austin experience in the video below.
