An Austin woman has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of her roommate last week.A spokesperson for the Austin Police Department said officers were called to the Runnymede apartment complex on Rutland Drive just after 1 p.m. Friday afternoon.
Upon arrival, officers found two women with injuries. Both were transported to the hospital, where one died a short time later from stab wounds. The deceased was identified as 18-year-old Tyesha Taylor.
Authorities have charged the woman, 21-year-old Kennet Haywood with first degree murder in Taylor’s death.
Haywood is being held in the Travis County Jail at $1 million bond.
